Estimating renovation tasks using the BuildingWorks Room Renovation tool

A really useful feature….
for BuildingWorks Estimate and Design modules is the Room Renovation tool which enables you to carry out any number of renovation tasks room by room, individually or for a whole building.
The tool will cost the renovation and refit of every room in the property including kitchens and bathrooms.
In short, the intuitive tool will enable you to complete a renovation cost breakdown, estimate and customer-friendly quotation if needed, in a matter of minutes.
To begin with, you’ll need to draw the existing walls of the property, along with the windows and doors (the software cleverly knows it’s existing and won’t cost them). After this, you can get on with your renovating.
Working task-by-task; plastering, decorating and joinery, renovation and fitting out, you can quickly and logically assess the costs involved.
Taking the decoration and joinery task for instance, you can choose the relevant specifications. These include functions for internal decoration of ceilings, walls, coving, dados and picture rails, as well as door stripping.
The tool even gives you the option to allow for removal and refitting radiators during the renovation process.
After you’ve finished with the Room Renovation tool, you can go on to cost the plumbing, heating and electrics fit out.
Subscribers of BuildingWorks can access dozens of video tutorials that explain individual tasks and stages within Design and Estimate. And of course get valuable tips from the BuildingWorks team.
